Ethiopia holds a special place in my heart. What began as a single trip to share communication strategies has grown into a continuing partnership with teachers, families, and professionals who are changing what’s possible for children with communication challenges.

Meet Karen
Helping children with communication challenges resulting from autism, developmental delays or other developmental differences has been at the heart of my life’s work for more than 30 years. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside families on their journey -celebrating progress, navigating challenges, and finding hope in every step forward.
My passion extends beyond the therapy room. I love teaching and supporting parents, caregivers, and professionals, because I believe that when the people closest to a child feel confident and empowered, the child thrives. Over the years, this belief has taken me not only into schools and clinics across the United States, but also around the world. My most meaningful experiences have been traveling to Ethiopia, where I’ve shared training with 10+ schools and over 400 parents and teachers. I have learned so much from the dedication and strength of families and professionals there.
